On June 3, 2013 while standing on a rainy sidewalk outside Renfrew Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta, I met John Loftus for the first time. Folks are surprised to learn that prior to that day I had never spoke on the phone with John, much less met him in person, and yet we had written a book together.
And so began our brief tour of Alberta. For the next three days we would undertake a series of three debates in three different cities. Those would be the public events that hundreds of people would attend.
But we didn’t stop debating after the venues emptied and the doors were locked. Indeed, for the next three days we remained in almost constant dialogue and debate, and along the way I recorded some of those conversations over a coffee at Starbucks and driving north toward our next destination. I’ve now packaged the resulting conversations as a series for my podcast called The Loftus Rauser Roadtrip: Conversations on God.
So welcome to the first installment in the series.
