On Meeting My Past Fundamentalist Self

December 17, 2021 by Randal

When I was a kid, I learned to view Christians who challenged my narrow fundamentalist paradigm as ‘liberals’ who were trying to subvert the Gospel. The view was borne by ignorance and an utter lack of charity. These days, when I make a point that challenges fundamentalism. I regularly get catty insults from Christians on Twitter who behave much as I did 30 years ago. They say I’m not a Christian, that I’m used by Satan and that they’ll pray for me in that nasty passive-aggressive way characteristic of angry fundies.

I try to take it in stride by viewing it as payback for my past self.
