And how are things going at the conference in New York? Very well, thanks. Last night N.T. Wright and Francis Collins did a mini-concert including a version of John Lennon’s “Imagine” that brought the house down. Basically, they took the song and plugged in new lyrics exploring the frontlines of theological and scientific reflection. I’d seen youtube videos of Wright playing guitar before but wow, he’s quite good! Who knows? Had these two public intellectuals met in the 1960s “Collins and Wright” could have been “Simon and Garfunkel.”
