The latest review of “Swedish Atheist”

January 17, 2013 by Randal

Here’s the latest review of Swedish Atheist from one of my former students, Bryce Ashlin-Mayo. Just consider the opening paragraph:

There is a select group of people in my life that, with a conversation over a cup of java, make me feel smarter and wiser.  Randal Rauser is one of those people.  I have had the privilege of sitting down with him on several occasions over coffee talking life, movies and theology and I have always left feeling smarter and wiser as a result.

That left me with a blushing smile … until I began to wonder if Bryce was alluding to the contrast effect. Consider:

There is a select group of animals in my life that, with a quick walk, make me feel faster.  The giant tortoise is one of those animals.  I have had the privilege of going for a walk with a giant tortoise on several occasions and I have always left feeling faster as a result.

Gosh…I hope that’s not what he meant! 🙂
