You may know that two years ago I published a book called Finding God in the Shack (Authentic, 2009), a guide to William Paul Young’s The Shack and the many controversies it has spawned. While Finding God sold well, the Portuguese translation of that book, Encontre Deus na Cabana (Planeta, 2009) became a bestseller in Brazil where it sat in the top twenty of Veja’s “AUTOAJUDA E ESOTERISMO” list (Brazil’s equivalent of the New York Times bestseller list) for more than a year and a half.
Anyway, as a byproduct of that book’s success I received an invitation to come speak at a conference in Rio de Janeiro for a non-profit organization called “Núcleo Convivências” in June. Núcleo Convivências has existed for twenty two years with a mission of providing medical treatment and social support for poor children and this event, a lecture forum called “Poucas e boas sobre a felicidade”, helps to promote the organization.
I will be speaking on the topic of “Happiness”. If you happen to be in Rio on June 17th, I invite you to come on out! (Hey, you never know.)
