Last Saturday afternoon life ground to a halt all over southern Ontario for 26 minutes. Traffic on the 401 was at an eerie standstill. Major airports were shut down. Everybody is standing, listening with a ferocious intensity, almost trance-like. Some are in their cars. Others have headphones.
