I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I am currently working on two books. I have now contracted the second book with the Cascade imprint of Wipf and Stock. In Is the Atheist My Neighbor? Rethinking Christian Attitudes Toward Atheists I take up the discussion I started in chapter 10 of You’re not as Crazy as I Think. In that chapter, titled “Not all atheists are fools”, I defended the rationality of the atheist’s position. In my forthcoming book Is the Atheist My Neighbor? I carry that argument forward while offering a careful critique of deeply entrenched Christian opinions (nay, prejudices) against atheism. One of the chapters also features a discussion with atheistic author, debater and blogger Jeffery Jay Lowder.
I plan to finish writing Is the Atheist My Neighbor? by the end of October, at which point it enters the winding editorial journey toward publication. Look for it in 2015.
